Surreal Photography: Piano Peace

Another surreal world is the one imagined by Thomas Barbèy, photographer and photocollage artist, born in Connecticut in 1957. He had a very cosmopolitan life that probably influenced him into this extraordinary for of art. Since he was 6 months old, he lived in Europe with his parents. They lived in Italy and Germany for a while, then settled in Geneva, Switzerland, for 17 years. Thy lived next to a large art supply manufacturer and Barbey certainly took advantage of this and began drawing seriously at the age of 13. He started with a career as a recording artist and lyricist and after entering the Italian music charts, he moved to Italy and lived there for fifteen years. In 1995 he and his wife Suzanne moved back to the US and now they live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Photography began as a hobby, but soon he became a professional fashion photographer and after years of working for commercials, Barbey finally started to follow his own imagination and the creation of his surreal photography began.
